Tabitha Steele Thomas departed this life on December3, 2010 at High Point Regional Hospital. She was born on December 11, 1939 in Mt. Gilead, NC and the proud daughter of Daisy Steele Vick and Nevin Watkins. She was a graduate of Peabody High and Guilford Technical Community College. Tabitha was a retired Cerified Nurse's Assistant of Maryfield Nursing Home. Tabitha wa a devoted wife of 45 years, a loving mother of three and many extended children. The love and compassion for others was genuinely shown for others. Her smile filled rooms and the hearts of those who came in in her presence. Preceded her in death: Father, Nevin Watkins; Brothers, Walter Steele and Robert Horne; Grandparents, Nollie and Tabitha Steele, Samuel and Harriet Watkins.

Son, Walter "Walt" (Sharon) Thomas of High Point, NC; Daughters, Jackie (Anthony) Woods of Clio, SC, LaSandra Gayle (Bennie) Bulter of High Point, NC and Daisy "Dee" of (Andre) Irving of Chesapeake,VA. Sister-in-law, Lucretia Steele, Grandchildren; Chaverity Thomas, Ashley Thomas, Chris David, Jr., O'Darius Charles, Ashdon Thomas, Bennie "BJ" Bulter, Jr., Patricia "Nikki" Irving, Jazmin Woods, Tabitha "Mia" Irving. Great-grandchilden: Treasure Thomas, Kelis Hawkins, Liyah David. Brothers, Kenneth (Martha) Watkins of Albermerle, NC, Mitchell (Jennette) Watkins of Norwood, NC. Sisters, Nellie (Kent) Williams, New London, NC, Mattie Price, Albemerle, NC, Lena Lee, Virginia Beach, VA, Paulette (Ralphael) Turner of Norwood, NC, Leola (Bobby) Crump of Albermerle,NC. Brother-in-laws Willie (Mattie) Thomas, William Thomas, Benjamin (Queenie) Thomas, and Sister-in-law, Betty Witherspoon all of High Point, NC, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins she loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, at New Beginning Full Gospel Ministry. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in Carolina Biblical Gardens.
Final arrangement are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, High Point, NC.
